What's the Socrates Program ?
The Socrates program is the program of action of the European Union for the
transnational cooperation in the field of the instruction. One of the fields
of Socrates is dedicated to the university instruction and takes the name of
Erasmus that, between the others many actions, promotes mobility and the exchange
of the young students between the European athenaeums. In practical with a Erasmus-study
grant you can go to study in a foreign university (or to make search for a bachelor
thesis, or to follow a course of specialization or also of doctorate), not to
pay no tax, and to the return in your athenaeum, to see recognized you the periods
of study and the eventual examinations you did. The program applies to all the
university of the States members of the European Union or also of the Iceland,
Liechtenstein, Norway, Czech Republic, Rumania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lettonia,
Lituania, Polonia, Republic Slovacca and Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey.
How is organized the Socrates Program in my University ?
The whole activity of the program in your university is coordinated by the delegated
chancellor for every faculty. But the haert of the Socrates Program are the
Socrates teacher tutors.
What are the tasks of the Socrates Commission ?
The Commission is called to express itself about its opinions and decisions
that involve the programming of the Erasmus/Socrates action, with the particular
attention for the didactic activity.
Of the Commission make part also a representative of the students, elect in
Academic Senate, and a civil employee of the Office management Socrates. The
Socrates Commission, moreover, ratifies the graduatorie of merit.
Who's the Socrates-faculty delegate ?
The Socrates-faculty delegate has the task to follow near, respect institutional
organs, to you, unfolding itself of the Socrates activities, and has for you
the function of point of reference for whichever problem of didactic character
who you do not succeed to resolve through your teacher tutor (because absent,
not available, etc). Moreover Socrates-faculty delegate has the function to
supply to render participate to the Faculties of the taken decisions within
the Commission and to carry, in the sessions of job of the Commission, the proposals
and the demands for the entire teaching body. They are in practical a "point
of contact" between the single Faculties, the same Commission and the students.
Which functions have the teacher tutor Socrates ?
He's an essential figure for your activity of study within the Socrates program.
He's the teacher who with spirit of initiative has a tutorato job, he's supplied
to establish the agreements with the foreign universities, on which then it
has been possible to instruct the Institutional Contract with the Commission
of Brussels and therefore "to activate" your mobility. Your tutor
is the "right person" for all the useful information that will regard
your distance of study to the foreign country, he's the teacher who will have
cure of the small and the great didatic problems near the European athenaeums.

Which functions have the Councils of study course ?
The Council of study course is preplaced to the approval, to re-enters of the
student and behind official communications of the teacher tutor Socrates, of
the examinations of the foreign institution.
